This includes the understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers in equations, addition and subtraction of fractional numbers, ratios, percentages, profit and loss in small financial transactions, different geometric shapes and their properties and the way those are used in verbally stated problems. Understanding the basic numerical functions and their use in mathematical problems and all these aspects those are
expected on the part of the students at the level of 7 th and 8 th standards.

Spatial ability measures objectively the perception and understanding of two and three dimensional shapes and figures, ability to analyse the relations among the objects and shapes having 3 dimensions, child’s understanding of the sense of directions and relations among different geometric shapes and figures and imagine the logical sequence among the different shapes. This ability is seen more strongly among the
technicians, engineers and architects.
